We have been fortunate here at OutsourcedEstimating.com to be staying very busy as we prepare to head into the last quarter of 2017. The last few months have been extremely busy with a number of excellent projects completed since our last post.
On the commercial side, we have completed quantity surveys and estimates on a variety of government facilities, retail centers, office spaces, schools and restaurants throughout the United States. One of the more unique projects was an addition to the maintenance facilities for the F-22 fighters of the Hawaii Air National Guard in Honolulu, Hawaii. Another unique project was a ABBQ Restaurant in Atlantic Beach, Florida. This project was unique due to the incorporation of timber frame construction with traditional steel construction. Of course the "smokers" were unique as well. OutsourcedEstimating.com also completed a project in New York City, just down the street from the iconic "Flatiron" building, which is one of my favorite buildings in NYC. Finally we had the opportunity to work on a couple of Planet Fitness facilities in Washington State, which were interesting in how the architecture ties into their branding.
The multifamily sector still seems to be doing well, as OutsourcedEstimating.com has completed quantity surveys and estimates on at least a dozen projects since April of this year. These projects ranged from small conversion projects of 6 units to new buildings with 200+ units and structured parking. The projects ranges from low income units to market rate units, as well as assisted living facilities. Most of the projects were scattered throughout Washington State, while one was in the Boston area.
Finally, the residential market also remains very strong, with OutsourcedEstimating.com completing estimates on approximately 25 single family homes, as well as a number of townhouse as well. For the most part, these projects were high end custom homes, with a mix of new construction and extensive renovations. The locations of these projects included Florida, New York, North Carolina and Oklahoma, which is a new market for OutsourcedEstimating.com.
Our client base continues to be a mix of Architects, Developers, General Contractors, Owners, Specialty Subcontractors and Suppliers. In addition to providing freelance construction estimating and quantity surveying services, OutsourcedEstimating.com also provides other pre-construction services including scheduling, plan review, with an emphasis on cost control and constructibility issues, as well as purchasing and procurement support, general business consulting and strategic planning.
